Discipline Management
The Why and How of Discipline Management
Disciplinary processes are difficult for both the employer and the employee especially for people who try and avoid conflict. However, conflict is unavoidable, and one needs to equip themselves with the skills necessary to deal with conflict when it arises.
The Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995 (LRA) provides the statutory framework that regulates the relationship between the employer and employee. The LRA sets the standard for acceptable conduct. Schedule 8 of the Code of Good Practice: Dismissal provides guidelines for employers on how they should navigate for example issues of discipline in the workplace.
Our module provides you with useful insights into why disciplinary action might be instituted and how legally it is supposed to be carried. Using practical examples, we guide you through the entire process of disciplinary action in the workplace. Whether or not the outcome is dismissal.
